WHY THIS SPACE
The design of the house was meticulously crafted to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Influenced by local construction regulations and the existing trees, the layout of the house prioritizes both functionality and harmony with nature. The brutalist-inspired fortress is constructed from raw wood-formed concrete, which gradually reveals itself like a sculptural piece. The materials were chosen with care to complement the environment, taking into account the region's humid climate, frequent rainfall, and the possibility of hurricanes, ensuring both durability and aesthetic cohesion with the jungle surroundings.

The interior design of Villa Cava, curated by Kayla Pongrac, elevates the space into a stunning, livable work of art. The house itself feels like a habitable sculpture, unfolding through a concrete portal that is carefully crafted around two mature trees, leading guests into the lobby. The space is bathed in natural light from an overhead pool, creating a captivating atmosphere where the interplay of water and light dances across the walls, setting a warm and inviting tone as you step inside.
Villa Cava's ground floor features a study, open-concept kitchen, and social area that flows into a swim-up pool, with design elements that guide the user through the space. The upper floor is a private retreat, with a master suite boasting 30-ft ceilings, skylights, and a 20x20 ft window that frames stunning jungle views.
